OHANA TIGERS 14U QUARLES SUMMER '16

Donation protected
The Ohana Tigers 14U Quarles softball team can use your help! We are raising money to support our busy travel schedule this Summer '16  which includes trips to Colorado and Kansas City for national showcase events and tournaments. All money raised will go 100% towards team costs which include the following:
team / athlete transportation, team meals and outings, uniforms, player equipment, coaches expenses, travel assistance for some of our families and miscellaneous team costs related to travel.

We are gladly accepting donations of any amount. We understand that not everyone is in a position to donate what they would like to at this time. But every dollar helps and even if you’re unable to donate anything at all, you can still help us by spreading the word and sharing the link to friends or family members who might be able to help.

We look forward to a great Summer! The Tigers practice hard, play hard and compete at the highest level of their age division. They also work hard to be model citizens in the community and in the classroom as well.  You are investing in a great group of well rounded young ladies that will make everyone proud for their success if given the opportunity.

Thank you in advance for your support!

A word about club softball and The Ohana Tigers...

For many American families, having a college scholar-athlete in their family is a rare thing.  Furthermore, having a child who is a D1 college scholar-athlete is most likely a first. So beyond just being an activity to do on weekends for almost a decade of a young athlete's life, the idea of being a college athlete brings much bigger dreams of becoming doctors, lawyers, businesswomen and successful leaders in our community to light, especially when there exist the vehicle of sport to help them reach their life aspirations.

What you probably already know about youth club sports is that it is a huge time commitment not only for the athletes on these teams, but for the families and siblings of athletes who give 110% support to their star athlete.  You may also know that to play on these club teams require more than time and emotional investment, but it also can weigh heavily on the parents financially, who struggle and some times work multiple jobs in order to afford what they consider an opportunity for their athlete to earn a scholarship and the chance to be a bonafide college softball player and student athlete.

But what sometimes goes without mention is actually much this financial commitment can be. For example, a week-long national tournament or showcase requires transportation, lodging and of course, living expenses during the trip.  A realistic cost for an athlete to participate in these events at the bare minimum is about $1000/athlete. This does not include the cost of family members and siblings who go on these trips as well. Athletes on college recruitable teams can expect to attend 2 or 3 of these events per Summer. Without doing the math, a family’s investment in their athlete for one year can be several thousand dollars. As our sport of fast pitch softball continues to grow, it is necessary, now more than ever, for female athletes with college aspirations to be exposed to these types of opportunities as much as possible now that softball has proven track record for being a viable and realistic way for families to send their top athletes to college.

The Ohana Tigers is a Southern California based club softball organization whose every intention is to help guide and mentor female youth softball players with the dream of playing collegiate softball on some level, by being skillful enough on the field and in the classroom to earn a scholarship. Through this process, the Tigers are highly mindful of the family influence in the lives of each player and makes an effort to help each family’s journey to be as smooth and well-navigated as possible.

For the first time this year, the Ohana Tigers is approaching our community of friends & family via the internet to ask for their support for a worthwhile cause. By the grace of God, our athletes are all healthy and in good spirits and the support we are asking for makes it possible for ALL of these hardworking athletes to continue to work enthusiastically towards achieving their personal and team goals.
