Osborne High School will be one of two schools representing Cobb County at national parades this fall. The Osborne Red Sea of Sound Marching Band is travelling to Chicago for this year’s prestigious McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade.
We are now just $8000 shy of our total campaign goal of $20,000. The trip will cost just over $33,000 and they have been working hard to raise money through fundraising activities like car washes, spirit nights, concession at football games and selling band gear. This all helps, but but they need your support to help fray some of the financial costs.
Our young freshmen see being part of the band as a place for them to learn and hone their musicianship skills and as opportunity for them to attend college that may not otherwise be possible. Our upperclassmen see the chance to perform on a national level as an opportunity for them to continue the legacy of the Osborne Red Sea of Sound Marching Band and bolster their resume as they approach the college application process. Wouldn’t it be great to see these young people believe that their dreams can come true and they too can embrace the power of their potential?
