Old Army Al Needs a New Scooter

Donation protected
Old Army Al is someone whom every cadet at Texas A&M knows as the motivator who supports them through thick and thin! He makes an appearence to every formation, from 6am to 6pm, to make sure us cadets are motivated and keeping the Corps redass. Two things get him there. His love for the Cadets and his scooter.
I saw him the other day looking at a scooter catalog. He said that his current scooter is starting to go bad and the battery is getting old. When I asked which one he wants, he pointed at one and said he wanted it, but it was too expensive.

What better way to give back to Old Army Al; moreover, enable the Cadets to have their best buddy at all their events! Please help the man who gives us something priceless.

***UPDATE 4.)
Howdy!

I would like to start off with a big thank you to all those who participated in the process of providing Al with a safe and reliable scooter. This would not have been possible without the support, financial and otherwise, of the Aggie family. That being said, I would like to cordially invite all supporters of Al to a celebration of his dedication to Texas A&M and the formal presentation of his scooter.

The presentation will take place Thursday, February 9th, 2017, beginning with formation on the Quad at 6:30 PM, followed by the presentation of the scooter in Duncan Dining Hall. There will be an option for guests to purchase dinner at $15.60 per person. All guests are welcome and encouraged to socialize with Al following the presentation. Please note that there is currently construction around Duncan, so entries to the Quad/Duncan are only on the North, East, and West.

Please RSVP by Monday February 6th to [email redacted] if you plan on attending.

Again, I cannot thank you enough for making this happen, it means so much to Al!
Very Respectfully,
Chris Haerr

***UPDATE 2.)
Howdy!
Thank y'all for your patience.
After some research and discussion with Al, we have decided to give Al the Afikim Afiscooter S4 single seat along with an interchangeable double seat.
The reason for this choice is 1) Afikim Afiscooters are said to be the best in its class and 2) it allows for a double seat which Al would like to use to drive injured cadets to class.

The goal has been updated to accommodate for this scooter and the extra, two-person seat.
If the goal is not reached, the Commandant of the Corps of Cadets has offered to pay the difference through funds raised by the Corps of Cadets Association.
If the goal is exceeded, we will give the funds to Al for accessories (i.e. a ramp or lift to get the scooter in his van).
Please standby on the presentation of Al’s gift.

Again thank y'all very much for your support and patience!
Please let me know if you have any questions.***

***UPDATE 1.)
Thank y'all so much for you're generous support! This goal was set based off researching the average cost of a scooter to get the ball rolling, and I'll tell you it did so quickly! Due to such an outstanding turn out, I am going to discuss with Al and Cadet Officers as to the exact details of the scooter he needs and how it will be presented.
Please stand by on the upcoming information and possible goal change.
Thank y'all again for your support!***
