Oliphant Family car

My daughter and I were driving home Saturday morning on HWY 41, when we saw a car smoking on the side of the road. A teenage boy, his mother and younger brother who was in a wheelchair, were on the side of the road. They were just discharged from Children's Hospital after a liver transplant surgery for 5 year old,Jackson. They were finally headed home to Ashland, WI (a 6 hour drive) after living at the Ronald McDonald house for the past year. The car started to overheat, smoke, and started on fire. Mom- Lindsay, has given me permission to help their family out. They have no car now- they watched it burn in flames on the side of the road, with all of Jackson's medications and their personal belongings. I'm setting up a fundraiser to get them a new car. Our friends at Bender Auto in Richfield have offered to help us out with finding this family a car.
My goal is to raise $10,000 towards a car that they can use to safely drive to Children's clinics and back for the many medical appointments Jackson will have in his future.
I wish you all would have seen how brave Tony (Jackson's big brother) was during this tragedy. There were oxygen tanks in the car and he ran back to the car to retrieve them. It was frightening to think what could've happened had he not acted so quickly.
