OEC- Books For Children In Shelters
Donation protected
According to Statistics Canada, over 3,300 women and their 3,000 children are forced to stay in shelters each night to flee abuse and domestic violence. With the holiday season rapidly approaching, many of these women have little or no money to spend on gifts for the kids.
I'm so excited to share with you a project I have been working on with a local women's shelter in the Toronto area: Operation Every Child. I believe in the power of books, and that words can change lives. That's why this holiday season, I hope to raise $1000 to purchase two books for each child at the women's shelter this holiday season.
As a book blogger, I've read hundreds and hundreds of books for children and teens. I have selected amazing books for Operation Every Child that are high quality, diverse, and perfect for both boys and girls.
For Operation Every Child, each child spending holidays at the shelter will receive two brand-new books as a gift. All money raised will go directly to Operation Every Child. I am so thrilled to be bringing this project into the world, and I hope you can help me make a difference!
