Operation Save Abortion, AL! A Call to Action!

Abortion is necessary health care! This has been a core tenet and belief of the Alabama Women's Center for Reproductive Alternatives for over 20 years. Before our clinic ceased abortion operations on June 24th, second-trimester abortion care, family planning training and mentorship were already severely limited. Despite the Supreme Court's decision, training, advocacy and later abortion care continue to be of utmost importance. Women MUST have control over their bodies!

By providing this care and training, Alabama Women's Center has saved lives! Alabama has essentially banned abortion in all but a few cases. A physician performing an abortion can receive up to 99 years in prison. Since the inception of our clinic, we have been at the forefront of numerous legal battles to keep abortion safe and accessible.

Alabama Women's Center is an independent clinic with limited resources, but lots of HEART! After fighting multiple court battles and enduring tremendous expenses associated with TRAP laws passed over the years (including costly, unnecessary renovations and even relocating), we are looking to move again! We will not give up! Our Alabama clinic will remain open for other services, while we  are looking at options to move to Illinois to continue to offer reproductive choice. We need your help! Funds raised will be used to maintain current staff and secure, renovate, and furnish a new clinic. Funds will also be used to cover our current mortgage (incurred from the move following the 2014 TRAP law) and expenses as we transition. During this transition, our providers will use the current location to accommodate patients and focus on caring for the increased number of people who may be forced to give birth. However, should abortion return to Alabama, this clinic will remain ready to service clients.
