Opportunity Now - David Wangari
Donation protected
DAVID WANGARI has just turned 13 years of age and currently attends Zawadi Primary School, Kiambu, Kenya. David is the son of Judy a single young Kenyan woman, who has no family support and works in a low paid job in an attempt to provide a home as well as the best possible education for her son. Judy is hard working when given the opportunity, - honest, Christian and an excellent Mother. David is her only child. He has well above average intelligence, is caring, makes friends wherever he goes, loves animals and outdoor activity, and is responsible and devoted to his Mother.
George lived and worked in Kenya for 12 years and met Judy and David when Judy became his housekeeper in 2007. George developed a lasting and indelible bond with David.
George is now a septuagenarian with very little money for extras. He has had to return to England because of a cancer diagnosis and is unlikely to work again. Judy’s very basic home expenses and Davids’ schooling have, up until now, been covered by George who is the writer of this funding plea. Judy has covered basic living costs. Due to George’s recent downturn in health and return to the UK for treatment he is no longer able to continue his support.
Davids’ natural intelligence and enquiring nature have (so far) blossomed from within his secure home and his schools tutelage. It would be tragic for this young man with so much to offer and with so much potential, if due to lack of finances it was no longer possible to continue his education and support.
Our sincere prayer is that through the generosity of those who may respond to this plea it will be possible to continue to fund David’s education until he completes his primary and secondary courses. It is also hoped that, through any kind donations received that Judie’s modest earnings can be sufficiently supplemented to provide David with the stable environment needed for this strong, impressionable young mind to flourish. With the benefit of the education his mother and George would like to provide, David may one day grow to be a leader in a society which will be in so much need of good leaders.
Detailed below is a breakdown of the finances to ensure David and Judy’s wellbeing and David’s education.
