Optimizing Rebecca May's health is a campaign requesting help to cover costs of medical leave. I am a really private person and take pride in my independence but I am being told by my closest friends that a time has come to ask for help.
My health has taken a serious hit in many ways this year. I have been hospitalized, am being treated by blood specialist, have had repeat hospital procedures and now need a major surgery that will be keeping me out of work for up to 8 weeks. This has been one hell of a year for me. I have had other emergent issues every single month this year that have challenged my strengths more than ever. I have lost key family members (thank god for friends!) and all three of my dogs have been hit with health issues. Due to the hard year, they are currently just getting by with bare minimum medical care.
I have always been drawn to serve the betterment of humanity by serving individuals the best I can. I have devoted my adult life to helping others in the geriatric field, the mental health field, working with Adults with MR/DD, and currently I help others live pain free, stress managed, peace filled lives allowing them to have a more centered space from which to help others. My life goals are met in this career, there is no altruism there it just makes me feel good about my life when serving other people. Being self-employed allows me to serve clients the way my education and experience guides me. Though self-employment has covered my living expenses for the past 16 years, it has never allowed for paid time off when sick, paid vacations, health insurance, or medical leave. I have always made concessions for that, because again, I love what I do.
I am humbly reaching out and asking for help to take much needed medical leave, i.e. keeping a roof over my head, utilities on, and food in the fridge. The current amount of $6,000.00 is the bare minimum needs and does not include medical for the dogs or any unexpected residual medical. The surgery has me off work for recovery for approximately 8 weeks. I will begin utilizing funds for mortgage and utilities as early as September 22nd.
I do believe there are many people in the world, like myself, who are thirsty to help and it is just a matter of crossing paths with the right people. I always hope and pray that I cross paths with those who will benefit from my skill set so that I can help them and those around them. Today, I also hope and pray this reaches those who are drawn to help me. Please do share this campaign to encourage this match. I am told crowd sourcing is all about the numbers. If you are drawn to help please do so, every bit helps...anonymous donations is an option if that feels good to you. Thank you so much!!!
Lastly this campaign gives me the option to do this as an individual or as a team. If you would like to be a part of the support team please do let me know.
