Our Fight for Kris and His Family
Donation protected
Kris came to Canada from the Philippines over 8 years ago in hopes to bring his family here for a better life. When Kris left to Canada his wife, Jocelyn, was newly pregnant with thier youngest son, Hanz, who Kris has not had the chance to meet in person yet as he has not been able to return home since arriving into Canada. Five years ago, Kris was diagnosed with kidney failure. Kris has just got out of his 15th surgery within the last few years. He must do multiple hours of dialysis on a daily basis. Even through this Kris has still managed to work 40 hours a week because he will not give up on the fight to get his 2 young sons here. The government has recently declined his application to become a Permanent Resident with their reason being that his medical expensives are more expensive than the average Canadian's. Kris is still alive because of our healthcare so staying here is a necessity and we are putting on a fight for his life with the government to hopefully turn their decision. This is literally a life or death situation for him. He has been a law abiding, tax paying citizen of our community for over 8 years.
Kris is already on the transplant list in BC however until he becomes a permanent resident he will not be eligible to recieve a kidney. Besides for Medical Expenses, they have hired an Immigration Lawyer to help them fight this. These are huge expenses that Kris and Jocelyn cannot afford.
Kris has sacrificed so much already trying to get his family a better life in Canada and if he is sent home it will be a death sentence for him. Please help us in any way you can to help get Kris and Jocelyn stay in Canada and be reunited with their children. As a mother- my heart breaks for them thinking these children might lose their father who is only 34 years old. Thank you in advance- anything helps!
