About Our Hub
It’s time for Mums of the Hills to take the next big step with our own Hub so our precious group can continue to thrive and expand our service to the community. Check it out in its raw state:
Imagine a magical place where mums gather in support and laughter…. A place to recoup, learn, and access professional programs. Where mums can upskill or find help to write a resume to re-enter their chosen career path. All in a beautiful cocoon of comfortable clean furniture, plants , and hot tea...
Yes! This could all be ours! We have just the space to make this dream a reality. It needs a lot of love: electrical and plumbing works, new flooring and funds in the kitty for ongoing basic running costs.
But there’s one catch…. We’re broke .
To make our collective dream a reality we need to rally the community together, come cap in hand to ask you to PLEASE help us! Your contribution will make an amazing difference for the Mums of the Hills and all those in our broader community for whom they care.
We can’t do this alone but together we can do it!
About Mums of the Hills
From humble beginnings, Mums of the Hills (MotHs) was started by a mum with a need to connect with local women and feel supported on the complex journey of motherhood and life. Belinda was awarded the 2023 Victorian Australian of the Year Local Hero for her work creating Mums of the Hills. Learn about Belinda's story and that of Mums of the Hills in this Youtube video.
It may be hard to believe, but since 2015 MotHs has grown into a community of over 5,500 diverse and incredible humans. At a time when many mainstream organisations and support services have floundered or outright failed mothers, MotHs has flourished into a safe supportive space where anxiety and misgivings are voiced, listened to and responded to soundly and sensitively.
Likened to a patient, non-judgemental friend, Moths is a unique community network created by all those who are part of it. It is a private Facebook group and incorporated body dedicated to supporting women emotionally, physically and professionally through the years of motherhood, connecting mothers to vital services, building community resilience, and promoting local businesses in the Yarra Ranges.
Don’t just take my word for it. Check out our fantastic website full of updates, events, and resources, read this article by James Cook University or this Ranges Trader article and follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Mums of the Hills is growing from strength to strength. We'd love you to be a part of our journey.
