Our Sweet Baby Tristin
Donation protected
Our sweet Baby Tristin was born five weeks early just after 8:00 a.m. two days ago on January 7th. It was immediately clear something was wrong. He was resuscitated, intubated and whisked away to kaiser Riverside nicu. Thru lots of tests that our day old angel had to endure, we know now that Tristin's sweet baby heart is enlarged & only working at 10% capacity. Giving our one day old baby a diagnosis of congestive heart failure. He also had under developed lungs & kidneys not operating at full capacity. We had no idea any of this was happening while he grew inside of mom. He is currently on life support and medically sedated as any sound or touch stresses him out. My daughter & son in law have yet to be able to hold their newborn son. Over his two short days of life he has endured many tests but that lead to some medications that have helped his lung/kidney function by quite a bit. This mornings visit from his neonatal doctor was very very hard to hear. He told us that while Tristin is stable at the moment, his heart is working to hard to sustain his body & that they only had a handful of medications they could try to buy him enough time for his body to heal his own heart but if those medications didn’t work, they could do nothing else. So kaiser Riverside had our angel transferred by ambulance to kaiser Fontana to a more comprehensive nicu. There he has received a new medication therapy for his heart. The doctor here is hopeful but another heart sonogram & echo tomorrow (01-09-18) will tell us if he’s making any cardiac improvement. Mike & Kourtnee are also parents to 3 yr old Kaden & 2 yr old Shailyn. Mom Kourtnee was the only parent working full time as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for Riverside County Fire. Something we are extremely proud of her for going into fire service just like her father & I did. Dad Michael is a full time college student & dad. Tim & I (Michelle) are Tristin’s grandparents. Phil & Barbara Hiser are their great grandparents. Pete & Renee Ortiz are their great aunt/uncle. And Kourtnee’s brother uncle Jackson. Between the seven of us we are caring for the toddlers while going back and forth to the hospital to support Kourtnee & Mike. They’re going to need help. They’re going to have to stay in hotels that are no more than 10 minutes from baby Tristin, plus travel back & forth to home, & food is going to run into a lot of money very quickly. They could be following Tristin for several months from kaiser Fontana to kaiser LA to Loma Linda depending on the treatments that are or aren’t working. Any funds would go for their constant travel expenses and for their monthly bills while no one is working. Thank you so much for supporting our daughter Kourtnee, son-in-Law Michael but most of all we need your prayers for our sweet baby Tristin Timothy to pull thru and make it home to is family.
