Ovarian Cancer Surgery & Fertility

Natalie is a Pediatric Therapist working in Early Intervention who was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer officially in January 2017. She will be having a full hysterectomy on September 18, 2017. She has worked hard in her Masters work at Erikson Institute in Chicago continuing to hopefully get her PhD in OT to help every baby possible. Back in 2012, Natalie had laparoscopic surgery and was diagnosed with severe endometriosis and PCOS. After graduate school, she moved to Arizona and has severe symptoms and issues that presented like ovarian cancer, but never were properly diagnosed. She went years with pain and sickness, trying to work hard to help babies. In November 2016, she was seen by Dr. Michael Hibner at Dignity Health St. Joseph's and received another surgery for PCOS and sever endometriosis. At the time, they found stage 3 tumors that ended up being ovarian cancer. Since then, Natalie has had various treatments, has lost hair, spends a nightly basis trying to hold her dinner down and gets various illnesses, all while working with babies and trying to put a positive and selfless light in the world. At this juncture, Natalie found out she would have to have a full hysterectomy on September 18, 2017 and she was shattered. Having a baby is all she ever wanted and that chance may be gone. She currently is undergoing fertility treatments to harvest and freeze eggs from her right ovary before surgery. Fertility and surgery costs are in the tens even hundreds of thousands of dollars and she also does not get PTO or SICK time as a contracted therapist so she will be without a paycheck for over a month. She just wants to feel better, fight hard and have a chance at a normal healthy life with a hopeful adoption of surrogacy one day. Thank you all for your very generous contributions! God bless!
