Pack 49 Gear Fund
Donation protected
Thieves recently broke into a fenced area and stole Lee Elementary Cub Scout Pack 49’s trailer, cooking equipment for camping and other scout supplies. The estimated loss for Pack 49 is $6,000. After filing a Police report it was determined that the insurance covering the Cub Scouts didn't cover the trailer and equipment. This equipment has been acquired from the boys raising money through popcorn sales and fundraisers over decades. The equipment is utilized for spring and fall family camp outs as well as numerous other scout events throughout the year. These camp outs are often the first and only time some of these scouts are exposed to the wilderness. This theft has left Pack 49 without the ability to host 50 Tulsa Scouting families on camp outs and experience firsthand the lessons learned in their den meetings. These camp outs also bring families together away from the distractions in life. Through camp outs and scout events, Pack 49 works diligently to develop the confidence of young men teaching them about the wilderness, teamwork, cooking and Oklahoma history.
Thankfully, local businesses have come together to help fundraising on Saturday, October 7th:
1. Ascent will have all their Fall outdoor apparel and gear in and is generously donating 10% of all proceeds that day to Pack 49. Additionally, Ascent has volunteered to serve as a drop off point for all equipment donations to the Pack.
