Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement Wildfire Relief
Donation protected
Métis Nation News is raising funds to support the evacuees from Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement who have been affected by a devastating wildfire.
As of now, we are aware of reports that at least fifteen homes have been destroyed on the settlement.
All funds will be distributed to community members on the ground for urgent supplies.
Accountability Information
Métis Nation News is committed to remaining accountable to its donors and transparent about how funds are spent.
1. Métis Nation News is run by three Métis people from Alberta, Ontario, and North Dakota.
2. We have numerous contacts from the Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement.
3. The funds will be spent on urgent supplies such as gas, food, clothing, medical supplies, and childcare necessities. Fifteen homes have burnt down on the Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement. The owners of these homes will be prioritized in terms of receiving supplies. Any remaining funds will be dedicated to helping rebuild destroyed homes.
4. The funds will be withdrawn by Jesse Donovan (an Admin on Métis Nation News). The funds will then be sent directly to the Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement Association.
- Métis Nation News will retain documentation which demonstrates exactly where the money has gone.
