Baby Paige Floyd Needs Prayers
Donation protected
Hi everyone. I am starting this page on behalf of Paul and Debbie Floyd. Their beautiful newborn baby girl is struggling right now and needs your help.
Baby Paige started out life 6 weeks early on Dec 17th 2016 at 4lbs 4oz, but with the help of the Maternity Ward and Nursery at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, she did great and went home after a few weeks. Life was great for the first time parents and they traveled to Ontario so their bundle of joy could meet the family.
Unfortunately on April 9th 2017 while out of Province, Paige was feeling ill and refusing to eat. Her attentive parents took her to the Children's Hospital in Eastern Ontario where she was assessed. What they thought to be a simple case of acid re-flux, turned out to be much worse. The doctors discovered that Paige's heart was enlarged and only working at %20 capacity with a blood clot.
On Good Friday mom and dad were advised she will likely need a heart transplant and was put on medication to potentially help and discover if it is a genetic disorder or metabolic issue. Testing has begun, but unfortunately these things take a while to figure out.
Saturday evening her heart capacity dropped below %20 and her breathing became very labored. They took her to the ICU for the night.
On Easter Sunday Paige was taken by Air Ambulance to Toronto's Sick Kids Hospital. Mom and dad had to fly separately to Toronto. As of this moment we are unaware of Paige's condition. We know she is in good hands with the Transplant team in Toronto and her mom and dad will be there shortly after taking the first flight out.
It has been a whirlwind 36 hours and The Floyd family will need our help. Contributions from this page will go directly to Paul and Debbie for their medical expenses. They are on the wait list for the Ronald McDonald House, but will need accommodations until then. They will likely have an out-of-province air ambulance fee, and they also unexpectedly had to pay for their flights. They will need meals and any other travel related expenses. This will be a long haul in a different province, so costs will rise very quickly for the family. We would appreciate any donation possible, to ease their minds so they can focus on being a family and loving their little sweetheart through the most difficult time in their lives.
Please help support these wonderful people and baby Paige. She is turning 4 months old tomorrow after being premature, and is very delicate right now. This is a very urgent situation, as Paige's condition has been brought on rapidly and will need long term ongoing care.
