Parental Child Abduction legal fees
Donation protected
I am posting this GoFundMe page on behalf of my best friend Michelle Chenut in Bali. In her own words, this is her story:
"I am a loving a caring mother who always dedicated my time to bringing up my kids. 1 year and 7 months ago my husband abducted my two young children from Bali where we’ve been residing for 10 years. He has taken them to the UK where he originates from. I tried to obtain legal aid to fight my husband in the courts for the rights of my kids but has been refused twice (salary too low, 2nd round, salary too high for legal aid).
I have suffered traumatic stress from the loss of my children, going from a full-time mother for the previous 5 years to losing both children over night. The children were aged 2 and 4.5 when they were taken. He totally controls my access to my children for phone call and communication.
I have tried to communicate with my husband to mediate for their return but he has been unreciprocal to this. He tells me that they are better off with him and that they don't need their mother.
REUNITE parental abduction organistion in the UK contacted my husband to do mediation twice. Since he has refused twice, they have told me i would need to get lawyers involved at this stage.
I would like to set up an account for extra help on funding for the legal fees required for advice and hopefully to eventually win my children back through the UK courts. I will never stop their father from seeing them because i understand the importance for children to have both parents in their lives.
Unfortunately, he leaves me no choice now but to go down this road that I've been trying to avoid. No one wants to get lawyers involved. Trying to mediate would have been the best option but he refused. I miss my kids and as a mother I have no choice but to take any action I can possibly obtain at this stage so I can be reunited with them.
Now that the second claim for legal aid has been rejected I need to act fast if I have to obtain back the rights to my children that every mother should be entitled to. I will be extremely grateful for any help you can give.
Being a full time mom for 5 years, I’ve been very busy getting back on my feet financially and emotionally since they've disappeared from my life. I’ve started a raw chocolate company based in Bali so I would be able to provide for my children’s future. I’m lucky that it’s taken off very well and I’m at the 2nd stage of the growth of the company. Please check @balikisssraw
As for lawyers, fees are for the first 2hrs: 395 pounds, following 165pounds/hr.
According to the lawyer, some cases are resolved quickly and worst case scenario, 2 years.
All I would like is to have proper rights to my children. Whatever differences the parents might have, we shouldn't use our children as ammunition.
I will keep matters updated with time.
If you have any further questions you would like to ask me, please don't hesitate to send me an email.
Many thanks!
