Patti Brooks Needs Our Help

As many of you know, Patti Brooks has been a dear friend of the Beninati Family for nearly 40 years. We know her as Patti, but many of you may remember her as “Stalker Patti” from her appearances on the nationally syndicated, “Opie and Anthony Show” radio show.
I first met Patti while she was working for my brother Steve at his restaurant in lower Manhattan in 1975. Being the very sweet, very capable, thoughtful and generous person she is, she quickly became part of our extended family. Through the years, Steve and his wife Sondra have remained extremely supportive of Patti. Patti worked for Michael Parlato and me in various capacities through the ensuing years and has remained close in our hearts and to our families and children.
Unfortunately, Patti has fallen on some tough financial times. She is currently employed part time at Starbucks on Staten Island but unfortunately her hours have been drastically cut. It became necessary for her to move into subsidized housing and into a very small studio apartment. She was forced to place most of her possessions in a storage unit.
Because of her precarious financial situation, Patti has fallen behind on both her apartment rent and her storage unit rent. In arrears, they are now threatening to sell her possessions immediately unless she can pay the back rent and bring her account current.
Most of us have fallen on hard times at one point or another and some assistance when days are bleak can be a real life-saver. I am not asking for a “hand-out” for Patti, instead we should consider giving her a “leg up.” Please consider helping Patti with a donation. No amount is too small.
