Paul Evans charity football game fundraising

Donation protected
Paul ‘Evs’ Evans was diagnosed earlier this year with Motor Neurone Disease, at the age of 62.

Due to his illness, Paul has had to finish work in April

Many of us have known or first met Evs through football and as football has played such a massive part in Evs’ life, we have arranged a fundraising game for him and his family, which will also hopefully raise awareness of this cruel disease. As well as his close friends and family, former ex-professionals have come along to further raise awareness, which shows the high regard and respect that Evs has in the footballing community.

Evs started his footballing career at the age of 8 with Baglan Boys Club also representing West Glamorgan group of Boys Clubs.
At senior level he was a founder member/player with Red Star who made Neath league history.
His ability shone through and he went on to play Welsh league football for Afan Lido, Maesteg Park, Briton Ferry, Llanelli and Barry Town.

He managed/coached at Afan Lido, Goytre Utd, Giants Grave And Briton Ferry, before returning full circle to come home to Baglan, and he retired at the end of last season.

Outside of football, Evs was a top grafter (?!) and did his trade with the Steel Company of Wales as a Mechanical Fitter, eventually becoming a mechanical engineer, leaving to work at Bosch, going on to work in Ford/Visteon, CAV Aerospace Llantrisant, Service Control and then to ECS.

Paul is hugely respected, admired and loved by colleagues, players, friends, and family respectively and although a man of few words, he has a razor sharp wit and when combined with his very dry humour, his rebuttals are well known for being cutting and wicked in the best way possible way.

Past players/colleagues and friends have organised this fundraising football match for Evs at Briton Ferry football ground on the 30th November at 7pm kick off and would be delighted if you can either attend on the night and enjoy the game with us and Evs or give whatever you can on this page.

The entrance fee is £5 at the gate which includes a raffle ticket number

This page has been set up for anyone who would like to make a donation whether they can attend the game or not.
