Paul Hauge: Support Fund

Donation protected
We all remember Paul Hauge, former ArtCenter graphic design instructor and department chair, as a spirited man, wildly creative, often with a sharp wit, sometimes irreverent, and with impeccable taste and compassion. Dedicated to design and education, Paul influenced many of us throughout our education and careers.

These days, Paul is suffering from Alzheimer’s related dementia. He is also experiencing some financial difficulties. While living modestly in a care environment with others experiencing the same condition, Paul’s healthcare costs and living expenses exceed his income.

Currently, Paul is challenged to meet his expenses by $1,100 each month and within the coming months will be unable to meet his expenses at all. To ease the situation, a small group of gracious and generous individuals have contributed to help stretch Paul’s modest savings.

It’s time now to spread the word to the larger ArtCenter community in hopes of garnering much needed additional support.

Please contribute what you can--and spread the word to those in your network--to help us bridge the $1,100 monthly shortfall between Paul’s income and living costs for the next year.

If you would like more information, feel free to reach out.

Thank you for your generosity.

Sincerely,

Steve Sieler, GRPH ’80

Here's a pic from Michael Osborne showing Paul when he was Chair of the Graphic Design department, with Walter Landor and Don Kubly, then president of ArtCenter. Circa 1976? Early 1980s?

The below pic shows Paul as a young ArtCenter student in Lou Danzinger's class at the time. Paul once mentioned Lou wouldn't let him get away with any easy answers. That's probably a good thing.
