Payton Sargenti Strong

Payton Sargenti is from a loving family of eight, two brothers, three sisters, and her parents. Payton grew up in Wyckoff NJ and is in 8th grade  at Eisenhower Middle School. At Eisenhower she has many caring and loving friends. Payton's energetic and loving personality allows her to make friends with everyone that she meets. Payton loves to play lacrosse with her friends and sisters. She also enjoys going to ALL of her siblings sporting events and cheering for them on the sidelines as well. Payton makes anyone laugh with her sense of humor and overall witty personality.  Towards the end of this summer Payton started to experience pains in her stomach. One morning Payton woke up with an excruciating pain and she was rushed to the emergency room. Payton then found out that her appendix had ruptured and she needed to go through a surgery that night. There were complications in her surgery where they found that the small intestines had a tear which caused infections in her stomach. Payton then had to stay in the hospital for another five days, missing her first day of 8th grade. During these five days the doctors would run tests to find out what caused this tear in her small intestines. With constant visits and messages from Payton's friends and family she stayed positive throughout her time in the hospital. As the doctors were expressing concerns of cancer in her small intestines Payton's parents took her to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. There she was diagnosed with Lymphoma in her small intestines. Luckily, this is a curable cancer, but she will have to go through chemotherapy for six months, which means she will be homeschooled for six months. Payton expressed her caring personality when her only worry when she was diagnosed was how her family and friends would react. Payton's positive and determind attitude helps her get through her treatments. These funds would be very helpful to Payton and her family, thanks to anyone who donates!
