Peanut Butter For Paws

Hi! My name is Evanna. I began volunteering at the Alachua County Humane Society this summer and have fallen in love with all the dogs there. The Humane Society staff and volunteers are pretty awesome and spend lots of quality time with the dogs outdoors, but the dogs also have to spend lots of time in their kennels. As you can imagine, this can get pretty boring. They are given a special toy, called a Kong , that is stuffed with peanut butter. It is a tasty and nutritious treat and keeps them entertained. They love it.

With so many dogs, the Humane Society goes through tons of peanut butter. My parents and I came up with the idea of  "Peanut Butter for Paws" to help these wonderful dogs.  

In the month of October my Girl Scout Troop is hosting two donation drives at Publix. We are also organizing a fundraiser at several of the elementary schools in Gainesville to collect jars of peanut butter. 

A jar of peanut butter costs just a couple of dollars. So even  just $5.00 donation helps so much!
