Pennies for Pups: We're in a Pinsch
Tax deductible
Over the weekend, South Wood County Humane Society in Wisconsin Rapids became the new owners of nearly 80 dogs that were removed from two homes and subsequently surrendered.
I could give you a sad rendition of the story of these animals, but it’s more important to focus on what their story could become. And for that, these beautiful animals will need a lot of help. The shelter will need a lot of help. And I’m asking you to rally behind them.
If you’re a pet owner, you know that even routine veterinary care is expensive. Magnify that across an unplanned influx of dogs, who, unfortunately, need more than routine attention right now, and the costs begin to add up faster than the shelter can feasibly manage. These costs are on top of food, supplies, and medical attention for the other animals entrusted to the humane society’s care.
We hope the dogs’ stay at the shelter will only be temporary as they begin their journey to forever homes—becoming special pets to special families—to be shown the affection they didn’t know existed. Will you help get them there?
We'll be sure to post photos and updates of the grateful pups (the people are a little more camera shy). Any help is so appreciated!
