Purmalietis Home Fire
Today we had a home fire. Half the house is completely destroyed and the rest is mostly destoyed due to the water damge. We woke up right before and shortly after we heard yelling about getting out of the house. The smoke spread pretty fast, no one had any time to grab anything.
Luckily no people were injured but we lost both our cats, Doby and her mother Kitty, in the fire. As far as possesions go we still arent sure what was destroyed or not but at the moment no one even has clothes besides what they are wearing, I didn't even have time to grab shoes.
We are now aware of what soemwhat insurance will cover and we now know that most necessities will be covered and the money donates will be going to things the insurance does not cover.
Anyone worried for our food and housing do not worry. The insurance has covered that and we will all be safe.
The outside of the home is made of stone but the inside was mostly wood so the damage is worse than it looks. The building itself is actually considered a historical landmark and it's at least 150 years old, it's even older than the Cathedral down the street. I'll share some photos of the inside when I am allowed in.
The Owners Maris and Norma, my step-granparents, have lived their since 1975. They are by no means rich but they got it cheap and have been restoring it since. Besides them they're were 5 more of us, their son John their 3 grandchildren, Sara, Aaron and Kingly as well as myself.
It's especially tough as part of the way they made money was by renting out the top floor of the home so their main source of income was cut off. Besides that their grandson Aaron and I are the only ones working and we cant support all of us much less pay for a new home.
Anything would help even just telling others about it. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
