Piece of the Pi - 4th Annual Pi Day Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Ainsley Ramsey and I am the founder of the Piece of the Pi fundraiser. I started Piece of the Pi to connect a purpose with my annual personal tradition of reciting the digits of pi (3.14…), adding 100 digits each year to my previous year’s record. I am so honored to host this fundraiser for a fourth year, this year with the help of twenty-nine women passionate about our cause.
Each year, the Piece of the Pi fundraiser runs for roughly three weeks and concludes on Pi Day, or March 14th (03/14). As an organization, we strive to advance Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education accessibility in our home state of Arizona by raising funds for underserved and/or underrepresented groups in the STEM field. We accomplish this by partnering each year with Arizona Science Center (ASC).
Piece of the Pi raised $11,500 for ASC’s STEM Discovery Initiative in 2023, $8,440 for ASC’s School Science Pass Initiative in 2022, and $3,400 for ASC’s CONNECT Scholarship Fund in 2021. Our 2024 fundraiser will span from February 22nd, 2024 until March 14th, 2024. Funds raised this year will support a Girls In STEM workshop, sponsored by Piece of the Pi, at ASC, as well ASC’s STEM Discovery Initiative. Additionally, in keeping with my personal tradition of annual pi recitation, I will be reciting 1,100 digits of pi from memory.
Piece of the Pi’s 2024 fundraising goal is $15,000. You can support this year’s fundraising efforts by donating directly via our GoFundMe page, purchasing merchandise through our website(from which all profits are donated), and/or participating in our collaboration events with local businesses.
Our team is so proud of our commitment and hard work towards this initiative, and we are driven to provide the opportunity for Arizona children to discover and deepen their passions for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We are grateful for those in our community who support our organization and look forward to all that we accomplish this year!
More information about our cause, team members, and community partners can be found on our website. You can stay up to date with Piece of the Pi on Instagram (@piece.of.the.pi), LinkedIn, and by sending us an email.
