Pigeon Rescue Aviaries

The pigeon rescue situation in Chicago has hit a crisis point. Chicago Bird Collision Monitors has volunteers whose houses are wall-to-wall cages of unreleaseable pigeons who need homes. Racing pigeons recovered mid-race, dumped fancy pigeons, severely injured wild pigeons, wild baby pigeons, and wedding release doves - we're getting more in every day and conditions are becoming dangerously crowded.

We have volunteers who are willing to take on more birds, but they need aviaries, food, and medical supplies. $1,500 would buy us two aviaries with enough left over for much-needed supplies and medical care. If everyone who reads this donated $1, we would have more than enough resources to increase our capacity and improve conditions for these birds.
