Lifesaving surgery for Monika

Donation protected
Dear reader,
My name is Marco, live in the Netherlands, and here is the story behind this fundraiser, Monika's story.

a few years ago I met Monika through music and art, and more recently became aware of her critical condition. Hence my decision to help raise sufficient funds for the cure of this wonderful person and great artist.

Monika Lemeshonok (or Monika Lemi, as she calls herself as a painter and musician) is 30 years of age, lives in the city of Mogilev, Belarus Republic,  suffers SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) type 2, a progressive disease, Scoliosis and is beginning to have serious respiratory problems due the fact her lungs are compressed more and more, faster and faster.

Due severe Scoliosis she suffers constant pain in her spine, and can no longer sit in her wheelchair for very long periods of time. Of course painting or making music is and has been out of the question for quiet some time now.

The money we hope to raise will be to pay for a series of newly developed Scoliosis surgery and medical treatment at the Nigrisoli Clinic in Bologna, Italy, and (most urgently) for a non-invasive respiratory ventilator, so she can breathe (her lungs are now too weak which in turn weakens her body & system and this makes surgery very complicated or perhaps impossible.

The cost of respiratory ventilator treatment is € 3000,-
(approx. 3200,- USD), of which she is in need as soon as possible, in order to be ready for the treatments and surgeries to begin in Italy in March 2017.

Total cost of surgery, treatment, follow-up treatment and air-fare is € 40.000,- (approx. 42.600,- USD) This includes the € 3000,- for the respiratory ventilation.
Therefor € 3000,- + € 37.000,-
(a more exact expenditure breakdown will follow asap)

Both Monika and I hope and pray that this amount of money can be raised in time, for it will allow her to lead a relatively normal life without constant pain caused by the Scoliosis, it might put a hold to or at least slow down the progression of the muscular atrophy, and she will be able  to live, to paint, compose, sing, make music and play instruments again.

I truly hope you can help this wonderful young woman lead the life she so deserves!
Thank you❣
