Karlie Slaven, age 37, passed away on January 22nd unexpectedly due to complications from a brief illness. Karlie worked in the Indiana University Office of Research Administration as a manager. Karlie was always the first to volunteer to help out others and provided excellent support to the research faculty at Indiana University. She was an exceptional colleague whose talent and generous spirit touched many of us.
Karlie leaves behind her husband, Michael; two young children; and her parents (her mom, Merle Jean Illg, works in the School of Liberal Arts).
This is a painful time for Karlie’s family and those that knew her. Please help us honor Karlie’s memory by helping to support the future needs and goals of her two children.
