Our Beautification Project
Greetings everyone. My name is Kelly Wood and I am the proud owner and lead instructor of Pole Dance Charlotte, one of the most innovative and exciting alternative fitness studios in Charlotte, NC.
My story:
For the past eight years, I have had the pleasure of teaching the art of pole dancing to every day women around the Southeast. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been so rewarding. I started the business with nothing more than a handful of boas, a traveling stage pole and a dream of one day owning my own business. That was in 2005, and I remember it clearly – starting this exciting journey by hosting girl’s-night-out pole parties in the living rooms of women and their closest friends. During this time, I realized that after 15 years of dance education, I had a special skill of teaching the art of dance. So in November of 2008, I took my dream one step further to open my first dance studio, Pole Dance Charlotte Fun and Fitness. 
As the main instructor of a very visual experience, my body has become the studio’s most visible client. At 46 and the mother of four children, I am proud to say I’m in the best shape of my life, and continue to teach classes six days a week. As the creator of our program, it was important that we develop exciting and various options for our clients, and we have done that by including classes of sensual dance choreography and pole fitness or a combination of both. This program has been extremely popular and resulted in a number of exciting weight loss success stories for our clients throughout Charlotte. Every year this business has seen more students participate and our numbers continue to grow!
Why we are asking for your help.....
We have created a vibrant network of healthy women all around an innovative piece of exercise equipment, in a safe and nurturing environment. It’s been gratifying to see that after eight hard yet exhilarating years, our classes continue to sell out each week and we have enhanced our reputation of being Charlotte’s premier pole studio. 
But even with all of the success over the years, it's clear that we need to make important and significant upgrades to meet the current demand and our client’s expectations. I have been the sole investor in this studio over the last eight years, using my personal savings to insure our clients have a suitable and safe studio to do what they love. But now, as a new college mom with a freshman attending NC State, I am financially no longer able to be the exclusive underwriter of this venture of this size and I'm seeing like-minded individuals to join me as we continue to build this business.
So, today, with great anticipation and excitement, I am asking for your help and to join me with the game-changing enhancements planned for Pole Dance Charlotte.
Our Goal
We are looking to raise $20,000.00. We desire to create a setting that our current clients are very familiar with – a pole studio that currently provides some of the best instruction and physical workouts for women and men in the area, all in a very safe environment and a very reasonable rates.
This new facility is broad-based and inclusive, meeting the demands and wishes of pole enthusiast throughout the area – a comfortable, soothing sanctuary where people can help their body, mind and spirit.
How can you help?
Your donation will help us to upgrade from our current location to a bigger and better studio.....making for a more dynamic and professional environment. We are planning to install new equipment and fabricate a beautiful enviorment that will generate enthusiasm for new clients, and safer for all of our students.

One of my greatest joys is to experience people coming together, in a common pursuit of healthy living, becoming fast friends, all with a common love of pole fitness. I have been so proud of what we’ve accomplished. Like I wrote earlier, when I started this – it was a dream. I have lived this rewarding experience every step of the way, creating a special place that brings our clients together, becoming life-long friends in a healthy, safe environment.
I am all in! I'm ready to grow this company even more and take it to the next step - and I am seeing like-minded individuals who want to join me on this exciting journey!
