Police K9 Training Facility

Each year, Leadership Johns Creek works to develop, energize, and activate community leaders in Johns Creek by providing insight into and interaction with city, business, and government executives to affect positive change.
We are excited to announce that we will be creating a Police K9 Training Facility! This project has the full support of the City of Johns Creek and the Police Department. Police canines are required to complete eight hours of training each month with their Officer partner to remain certified (ensuring, for example, evidence the canine finds is admissible in court). Today our canines along with their Officer partners travel to neighboring cities with training facilities, or gain approval to use private land to train.
Johns Creek ranks as one of the safest cities in the country. The Johns Creek Police Department is a major reason for this ranking. They keep our families safe and in turn we would like to provide them with the tools needed to do their job their work to apprehend criminal suspects, sniff out drugs or explosives, and track criminals or missing persons. The city has agreed to dedicate the land if Leadership Johns Creek can provide the equipment, search boxes and obstacles.
As member of the Johns Creek community, I know that you share our desire for the JCPD to have the best resources and training available to protect our community. The total cost for a fully-equipped K9 training facility is approximately $10,000. We need your support to reach this goal. Your support will ensure that our K9 heroes and their Officer-partners remain ready and able to serve the residents and businesses of Johns Creek.
As a 501(c)3 non profit organization, tax deductible donations come with a receipt. Our timeline for completing this project requires that all donations be received no later than February 28th.
