Prince of Peace Apostolic Church – Roof Repair Fund

Our Church History
The Prince of Peace Apostolic Church was founded in 1945 and has been in operation over 71 years in the Chicagoland area. The church was originally known as the Prince of Peace Gospel Mission, the name was later changed to the Prince of Peace Apostolic Church by our late pastor Bishop John H. McCall who took leadership over the church in 1966 and served for 42 years.

About Us
This Church has been a great support for those in need down through the years. We have collected and donated funds to the foreign mission to help starving people overseas.  The church has fed people many times as they stopped by our sanctuary hungry and broken.  The Nursing Home Ministry supports elderly people who need encouragement and just want to enjoy a Sunday service, bringing morning worship to them every Sunday with singing, preaching, and fellowship. Our Women’s Ministry has donated toiletries to battered women and continues to help those who are bereaved or sick and shut in.  We have also donated complete turkey dinners annually to families that are in need during the holidays. This is just a few of the many ministries within our organization.

After the loss of our former pastor Bishop John H. McCall, the church is now under my leadership and is continuing to move forward in ministry.  However, within the last few years the church has suffered a major hardship as the roof of our sanctuary has continued to deteriorate.  We are now operating in the annex building which was formerly our dining area. My dad (The Late Bishop John H. McCall) always taught people that without a vision, the people perish. This fund was created for support in accomplishing our vision to move back into our sanctuary and rebuild this ministry to spread the word of God and give back to the community.

Leadership

As a young man, I (Elder John S. McCall Sr.) grew up under a very strong and divine man who loved God and loved God’s people. My father was a great man who had a heart for people’s souls and their well being. He made sure he stayed rooted and grounded in the word to tell me the truth as the truth will make you free. He especially had a heart for the young people. The development of the youth at Prince of Peace was phenomenal with the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and the Young People Department.  Young people were encouraged of the importance of a good education.  To this day many have pursued Bachelors, Masters, and even Doctoral degrees. Some privileged some underprivileged but all were taught the love of Christ and encouraged that they can do whatever they want if they put their mind to it and trust in God.  There were several Pastors (including myself), Ministers, Musicians, and Doctors, that were birth from this church. In the streets of Chicago, there are young people who are lost and need this type of mentorship.  We would like to reach them through our ministry. With your help we can complete our building restoration plans and continue to spread the love of God to all people.

Fund Raising Goal
Our Goal is to raise $100,000 to move forward with plans to restore the roof of our sanctuary and expand our ministries.

We encourage you to sow a seed into our ministries. We pray that God will bless you, and we thank you in advance for your monetary support.

Thank You,
In His Service - Elder John S. McCall Sr.
