Hello Everyone!!!
It's almost time for the biggest event of the year, yes the Poth Classic Weekend! Last year we kicked off our weekend with a day of service in partnership with Hashtag lunchbag where the team and community members put together lunch bags for those in need and distributed them at the Siena Francis House, a local homeless shelter. Then an energetic basketball tournament followed the next day, filled with many of our South Sudanese basketball standouts from the midwest. Saturday night was our Black Tie Gala which was graced by different cultural dances, fashion shows, talented performances, and recognition of our academic achievements and graduates. Our weekend then concluded with a community BBQ day.
We strive to bring you the same weekend again but need your help in doing so. The donations received will go towards providing resources such as food, water, transportation, and our rental spaces. At last year's gala, we unexpectedly reached our capacity of 500 people at the Kroc Center meaning there were some of you who couldn't make it inside. This year we would love to rent a bigger venue that can accommodate us all so that we can all enjoy the night together. A dollar goes a long way when it is going back into our community, any amount no matter big or small will help. We hope to see you all there and that you enjoy your time as well.
