My heart swells when I think of the phone call from a mother of an autistic child, telling me with excitement, that the dog I trained for her son who would frequently hide and not respond when called for, found him!! Just like we planned. This wonderful dog, that was evaluated and pulled from the pound, took to his training like a champ and has become a guardian of this child. He has even opened the door for this child to become more interactive!! This and similar stories, including my own certified search dog, is my motivation, my driving force, my purpose to make this program work!!! You can help!!
My name is Dale Thompson. I am the administrator and head trainer for PtSD, Pound to Service Dog. Located in Mansfield, this pending 501C3 service dog organization is "Finding Purpose" for those unwanted dogs of any breed from pounds, rescue groups, and private individuals, and through training, "Filling Needs" of individuals in a variety of situations including police work, search and rescue, therapy, and service dogs for special individuals and Military Veterans. But we need your help!
There is an ever growing need for rescuing unwanted dogs. Sadly numerous good dogs are euthanized everyday simply because they are unwanted. PtSD will carefully evaluate, select, and train as many as possible to give them purpose. To fill the void in the select group of people whose lives will be improved, made safer and brighter by a trained canine companion.
I am giving this my all, but could use help! The interest is overwhelming and we are in urgent need of growth, and thus funding!! That is a good thing!!! This money will be used for necessary legal work, documents, outreach, and kennel improvements!
