Powell Dog Park
SEPT. 14, 2020 UPDATE:
Because of Covid we have been holding off on fundraising but winter is just around the corner and it's time to start work on paying for a shelter!
The construction cost on the shelter went up considerably from our first estimates in 2019. Below is the revised dog park cost by phase:

The 3 PHASES of construction total $46,990:
PHASE 1) Fencing, gates, signage, benches, sanitation & sidewalk; $27, 733 - COMPLETE
PHASE 2) Shelter/dugout construction & highway signage; $12,936
PHASE 3) Dog playground/training equipment; $6,321
We are checking into local contractors for phase 3 in order to get that cost down.

April 17 UPDATE! Griffis Quality Fencing in Powell has offered to donate their labor on the fencing!! Wow!!! Thank you, Jake!
We are very excited at the prospect of having an off-leash dog park in Powell! We began work in March of 2018 gauging public interest via Facebook and researching possible avenues to establish a dog park in conjunction with the City of Powell. In November of 2018, Powell City Council gave us approval to work with City Administrators to develop a dog park in the northwest corner of Homesteader Park, directly south of the water tower and sub-station fencing.
We anticipate that the positive affect of a dog park will not only be to dogs and their owners but could also be considered as an amenity for those contemplating a move to Powell or as a draw for dog owners passing through or visiting the area.
Considering the overall positive advantages to our community, we are looking to our community to help us meet our funding goals! LOCAL CONTRACTORS will be used to construct the park.

1) Fencing, gates, signage, sanitation & mobility friendly additions; $21,489.83
2) Shelter/dugout construction & highway signage; $7,339
3) Dog playground/training equipment; $6,321
Each phase includes 2 BENCHES to match those already in Homesteader Park.
We have hit the ground running with a very generous grant for $18,489 from the Moyer Community Foundation!
