Ruddis Retreat Caravan Campaign
Donation protected
When Ruddi was just six and a half months old he was diagnosed with a rare cancer. Following a year of intensive treatment including a three month stint in an American hospital, Ruddi finally went into remission. For the two years whilst Ruddi was battling through the effects of Chemotherapy and all that comes with it, Candlelighters Charity kindly gave Ruddi and his family a one week holiday at Primrose Valley Caravan Park. This holiday helped the family to spend some much needed quality time together and was where Ruddi took his very first steps! Unfortunately when a child enters remission most of the charitable funding is stopped, however the after effects on the family are sometimes only just beginning, thus making it more or less impossible to afford a holiday. Ruddi’s Retreat are now proud owners of two beautiful static caravan’s at Primrose Valley in Filey, Yorkshire. The first caravan opened in February 2012, the second in June 2013. Both our caravans are fully modified to cater to the needs of their visitors.
Very sadly, last week, someone broke into the two caravans, stealing £1000 of electrical equipment, including games consoles, televisions, dvd players etc.
Leaving nothing behind for families that so badly need some brightness in their lives.
This charity have been providing a free, and valuable service to families that otherwise might not be able to take quality time together and make the most of their little ones last moments.
The charity is run by kind, wonderful people, who have struggled hard to get this service up and running, after losing funding this year for their coffee shop, this is just something else to add insult to injury.
Even if you can only afford to donate £1.00, anything is better than nothing.
Maybe you have a rarely used Xbox lying about, perhaps you own an electrical goods company and can't shift last years DVD player, or are you moving home and a bundle of family films you where just going to give to charity...
Well this charity is deserving, and worthy....
Find it in your hearts to dig deep and make a terminally ill childs life a memorable time to be cherised.
Please.
And thank you for doing something that matters.
