Ponderous Polly C123K Restoration
Donation protected
Late in 2014 the non-profit Warriors and Warbirds museum was able to obtain a C-123K Provider nicknamed Ponderous Polly. Polly served with the 19th Air Commando Squadron and was active during the Vietnam conflict.
She traveled the airshow circuit for many years but unforunately, she was severely damaged by Hurricane Fran and is currently not flyable. However we have begun the process of restoring her with the hopes of returning her back to Monroe NC before the airshow in Nov.
Currently we are raising money to repair and restore her control surfaces and to send teams down to her location in New Bern NC to further facilitate her repairs.
Donations will be used to complete the already in process restoration of the control surfaces, and to pay for lodging and incidentals for the volunteers who travel on weekends to New Bern for repairs.
