Nils Skudra is a recent graduate of the Master of Arts program in History at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is striving to become a professional Civil War historian in the field of research, curation, or archives and collections at a historic site or museum.
The Civil War has been his lifelong passion since the age of five and a half, and he has drawn hundreds of Civil War-themed pictures which numerous people have praised for their artistic style and historical accuracy.
In addition to achieving his career goal, Nils also has the dream of publishing his Civil War drawings as a children’s history book.
Pocahontas Press, a publishing company based in Blacksburg, Virginia, has offered to help get the book published. The total costs for publication will amount to at least $1,800 of which Pocahontas Press has already received $250.00 from UNCG as a grant. The goal of this campaign, therefore, is to raise $1,550.00 in order to cover the remaining balance publication costs.
Nils is currently working as a research assistant at the UNCG Honors College. He will also be receiving payment for several of his recently published articles (Nils is pursuing a secondary career as a freelance journalist), and he will be investing some of his earnings from these various positions in the campaign. Nils is a very diligent, conscientious and determined artist and historian. Please make a donation and help him achieve his goal!
