Project Face Shield UK

We are Valeri Valeriano & Christina Ong, best friends and Founders of Queen of Hearts Couture Cakes Ltd. based in UK. We are also former Nurses turned cake artists.

In this global crisis, we should have been one of the frontliners fighting and helping those who are infected. But now that we became cake artists, this is our little way of helping each of you. ❤️

We have decided to start #projectshielduk ❤️ A fellow cake artist from the Philippines, Amir Langbay, who has been making thousands of face shields and been donating to hospitals has inspired us and wanted to help our beloved frontliners here in the UK as well❤️ 


One of our nurse friends also messaged us and said that they had to sanitize the goggles and had to pass them to the next nurses as they lack so much of PPE. Sadly, she is now on home quarantine and highly suspected that she is covid positive ❤️


The MORE that we want to do this!!! So over the weekend, we have purchased some materials. We have emailed some local companies for support as well. We had some ribbons here so we bought enough to make around 2500 face shields.


Then a lovely company, Kerry Way Limited, has responded and have donated us enough foam that could make 2200 more face shields! Cole FabricsPlc. has donated 3000m of ribbons. How amazing is that?!❤️


So we’d like to ask for your help again guys. We would need more double sided tapes, more ribbons (1in wide), A4 acetate sheets, glue sticks. Please direct them to us and we are happy to make them ❤️ If you can, pls send us a private message. Otherwise, please help us raise money to buy some materials. 

We have made some computations and so we are asking £450:
A4 Acetate sheets  500’s: £60 x 5 - £300
Double sided tape: £12.49 x 6 - £74.94
Glue sticks 100’s: £15.99 x 2 - £31.98
 £406.92

The excess will be used to cover the  2.9% deduction plus $0.30 fee per transaction and most importantly, money to cover shipping costs.

As long as we get more funds, we will make more!❤️

We would also like to encourage all our friends around the world to see if you may be able to help. If you are able to buy the materials, it could save a lot of lives. ❤️ 


Please do share to your friends and hopefully someone would be able to donate so we could start making 2200 face shields...and hopefully more will start making them as well.  If you know suppliers of any of the materials, maybe you can also ask for some donations. ❤️

Initially, we will be donating these Face Shields at Northwick Park Hospital as well as Hillingdon Hospital. If we get more donations, we would be able to give more to different hospitals. ❤️
