Help PS230 5th Graders celebrate!
Donation protected
Here they come!
The 5th Graders of PS230 are growing up! PS230 in Kensington has been a wellspring of blossoming friendships; first books and first essays; new talents; games of kickball and jump rope; school performances and dances; community connections; and a deep love of learning.
Graduation is just around the corner (really!) and we, the 5th Grade Committee parents, are planning a memorable celebration. We are hoping you can help.
Every student's family is asked to contribute Senior dues of $120 (up $20 from last year!!). However, we are a 64 percent Title 1 school – 64 percent of our students are below poverty level, and they need state assistance. This means that the majority CANNOT afford the senior. Even if everyone paid the dues, they do not cover all of the expenses for all of the activities.
What will your donation help to fund? In years past, 5th graders have looked forward to:
1. Trip (usually a day trip in the tri-state area)
2. Yearbook & Dessert Party
3. 5th grade dance (with DJ)
4. 5th grade graduation ceremony (w/balloon decorations)
Parent volunteers are donating their time and effort to plan and carry out these activities. But the trip is a big ticket item that really needs your donation to help ensure EVERY kid has a chance to join the fun.
Donate even just $10 dollars to help us give these deserving kids a big send off! Or consider how you can help in other ways by sharing your time or talent.
Thank you so much for making a donation! Your donation means a great deal to the families who want to mark this special occasion but may not be able to afford the dues. And it means helping create a joyous and memory-filled last year for the 5th grade students.
