Pulaski Fishing Museum

Tax deductible
The Salmon River International Fishing Museum is a wonderful museum and visitors center, seated right in the middle of "Salmon Country" in Pulaski NY. We are a 501c3 not for profit organization. The museum sits on 10 acres of land, two beautiful buildings and a fishing pond. The museum holds a one of a kind collection of vintage and historical fishing artifacts.  In 1972 the Gladding Corporation started this collection. They were makers of "Fish Line" and Braided products since 1816.  The collection was originally displayed in South Otselic, NY, home of the Gladding Corporation. It was the first Sport Fishing Museum in the country. The original museums building had to be sold due to the bankruptcy of the corporation in the early 80's. The contents were donated and collected from all over the world  could not be sold, they remained public domain.

The collection was moved several times before it was placed in the heart of Salmon Country.  The community raised over $50,000 to build the museum in 2002.  Over the past 10 years the museum has been the recipient of a $5,000 grant which sustained the museum.  This year the museum is having a difficult time meeting our financial obligations due to the grant fund being depleted.  The Museum /organization has no debt. We have reached out to State, County, and local officials for their help. Unfortunately, they cannot help us with operating expenses such as our insurances and utilities which are the bulk of our expenses.

The museum and visitors center serves visitors from all over the world who come to see, fish and enjoy the wonderful Salmon fishery.  We run children's programs, teach adults and children about the sport of fishing, give tours and assist the community with connecting fishermen with the needed services such as Charters, Guides, Accommodations, health and community services and other tourism  attractions in our region.

At this point the museum will continue to struggle unless we find people who love the sport of fishing, want to preserve this wonderful collection and will partner with us so that children and families have the opportunity to learn about Fishtory!

Check out our Facebook Page and our web page at www.pulaskifishingmuseum.org  or Facebook at Salmon River International Sport Fishing Museum

If every fisherman in Oswego county with donate $1.00, we would have our needs met for years to come ! There are thousands of you !

Please help us continue to keep this attraction open to the public!
