Rebuild PTF and grow 1 ton of food
Donation protected
My name is Micah Wojnowski, after recent relocation I am hoping to rebuild what was once the greatest organic vegetable garden in South Park, winning 8 ribbons at the 2014 San Diego County Fair. This urban farm was named "Purple Tree Farms" and can be viewed at www.facebook.com/purpletreesd . I am no longer renting that property but have recently been gifted 2 small parcels of land where I may grow new gardens. The planning stage is complete and some prep work has begun to clear the heavy brush...and the goal has been set: We aim to grow 1 Metric Tonne (2,240 lbs) of organic food in the heart of the city using minimalist methods to increase recycling of waters, and minimize new water usage. Help us literally grow a ton of healthy, GMO free, organic food! In 2015 we successfully harvested 1,000lbs of veggies using only 250sq ft!
The new properties require some work to be in planting condition and totals nearly 1200 square feet. This is California so planting can commence as soon as the project is funded. The money will be used to rent a rototiller, purchase 10 truckloads of organic compost, waste disposal, seeds, seedlings, organic nutrients and Ph Test Kits, tomato cages, and supplies to hand weave an all hemp Pea and Edamame trellis. I believe in providing local, organic produce to my immediate community as it provides healthy alternatives and encourages community discussion about self sufficiency. My gratitude for these donations will be proudly displayed online in photos, video tutorials, and hopefully shared rewards of ribbons at the County Fair this summer. Every contribution makes a difference and helps foster a community with growth physically and spiritually. All labor for the project has already been volunteered by Front Yard Farmer (facebook.com/frontyardfarmer )
