He’s Hakeem Stevens and he’s not a Sony Executive, Award winning screen play writer, or Hollywood producer. He’s an indie film maker, and unfortunately none of those men know who he is...YET...but with your help, it won’t take long! Stevens decided to pursue acting in 2012, little did he know at the time, film-making and producing would be added to his resume as well. Months after landing his second major Commercial, he began production on “Wishful Thinking”, the reason you’re gathered here today! Now with a cast and crew on board, and the support of his friends and family, he is on the brink of success.
However, even with that support, additional funds are still needed to make this dream a reality, that’s where you all come in. Stevens has set a fundraising goal of $10,000 and we believe he can and will meet that goal. His wishes are for 1,000 people to each donate $10, but a donation of any amount is always welcomed and never too small! So now that you’re thinking about donating, you probably want to know where your funds are headed, right? All donations will go towards payment for the cast/crew, indie film festival submission fees and to also cover travel expenses for the festivals!
Through his work, Stevens’ goal is to create his own opportunities; he believes he is the master of his fate. This project is only the beginning; a gateway of all the great things the future holds. And along the way, as Stevens pursues his dreams, he is able to help other people follow their dreams as well, and that’s just an added bonus that makes it all worth it!
