6th Bomb Group WWII Reunion Fund
Donation protected
The 6th Bomb Group is a WWII unit that flew B-29's off Tinian Island in the Pacific during 1944 and 1945. They are brave men who are coming to Portland for their annual reunion. While most are in their late 80's and 90's, these reunions are special occasions to reconnect with friends and comrades who share a common experience. This reunion marks the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII and is an extra special event for them, and for many, unfortunately, it may be their last gathering.
Money raised will help stock a hospitality room where stories are told and memories relived. It will also support bus transportation costs for the tours that are being planned for the group. The more money raised, the more we can offset the overall individual costs and hopefully allow more members to attend. Many of the members are on fixed or limited incomes. There are still 105 veterans on the active roster and we hope that as many as possible will attend this reunion.
