John Dizek's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
John Dizek can be described in a few ways.  For those who don't know him personally, he is a founding member of "The Hassles", which is the band that gave Billy Joel his first taste of fame.  John is a loving father to his daughter Jessica and an adoring grandfather to Jessica's daughter Lexi.  John is a world class, multi-instrumentalist who shares, with a smile, his wealth of knowledge with whomever should ask him.  John loves to lead people in worshipping  the Lord by playing keyboards in church, as he has done for the past 4 decades.  John is a dear friend of mine, and MANY people can say the same.  He always has a smile and a hug to share.  Unfortunately, John is now battling cancer and needs help.

John used to work in woodworking until he hurt himself and was no longer able to perform the necessary tasks involved.  Although his inability to continue in this capacity had put some constraints on his financial life, he continued on with his music, earning whatever he could to help support his household. Throughout all of this, he has continued to maintain the most positive outlook, regardless of what life had to throw at him....and that still remains the case.  When someone gets the news that they have cancer of the liver, that can make a positive outlook difficult to maintain.  Not only does it tug on the emotion of facing one's mortality, but the cost of treatments, both direct and indirect (travel, lodging, etc,) can be quite high.  John has, through extensive research, found specialists that can help him, but needs your help to cover the costs not only of medical bills, but the expenses of travelling to the midwest to meet with his doctors.

I am a part of John's church family, which is small and limited in what we can do directly.  I am asking you to consider doing what you would certainly hope someone would do for you if you were in his circumstance.  If everyone who reads this would contribute something, however small, it would make a dramatic difference in John's life.  I know, first hand, how much he would appreciate it, and how many others would as well.  They would thank you for helping to keep this man in their lives, to continue to be a blessing to them.

If you know John, you know that I am understating his character.  I personally know that I am going to do everything in my power to help him get well.  Please join me.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
