Leo Schmitz Medical Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Leo & Sharon  Schmitz travelled with family (and alumnus) to OSU in Stillwater Oklahoma for the 2015 Homecoming Parade and Football game.  He had been in Stillwater only weeks beforehand to help deliver an MD80 aircraft donated by his employer, American Airlines to the Aviation School at OSU.  Unforunately, they never made it to the game. Their fun filled day turned tragic when they were struck down on the parade route by a speeding motorist.

Sharon received a leg injury, was treated and released from the local hospital. Leo sustained  massive injuries when impacted by a large heavy flying object, likely a motorcycle.  The car keys in his pocket were bent beyond use.  He was the first person airlifted out to OKC and received 8 hours of emergency surgery.  He will need more surgeries and then much recovery time.  Leo and his wife reside outside of Tulsa.  Travel time to the hospital exceeds 2 hours.

As a group of Leo's co-workers we are endeavoring to raise money to offset the medical and travel expenses.  Although he now repairs commercial jets, Leo is a registered "card carrying" clown, No Kidding!!!  He brings fun and laughter everywhere he goes.  It would mean The World to us, to have your help getting this Clown back on his unicycle/feet!!!!!!!!!!

I am Jason Yoder, a friend and co-worker of Leo. I reside in Tulsa, OK.  The funds are to be spent on medical expenses and travel costs arising from his injuries. The funds will be transferred directly to Leo & Sharon's bank account from Gofundme. Thank you.
