Grant Middle School Boston Trip

Hello, my name is Angela Alessandro. I am an English as a New Language Teacher at Grant Middle School in Syracuse, New York. Our 8th grade team is taking 40 students on a trip to Boston in May 2016. The cost per student is $400. We are raising money to finance this trip. The majority of our students are not able to afford  the total cost of the trip. Fund raising has not been as successful as we would like because several other grade teams are also trying to raising money. Many of the students trying to go on this trip are new refugees and immigrants to the US. Being able to go on such a trip would be a wonderful experience for them. Other students trying to go on this trip , for the most part, have not had the opportunity to travel beyond our city limits. The teachers on our team have been working hard to help our students raise money. We have purchased items out of our own pockets, such as candy and snacks, bagels, juice and coffee to name a few,  for students to sell. We are still far below our goal to try and lessen the cost to at most $200 per student. We would appreciate any and all assistance in helping to raise at least $3500. Thank you for helping us meet our goal to get to Boston!
