We are Quill and Leaf Publishing, a soon to Boutique Publishing company in the heart of Appalachia. Publishing had been our passion. As an Appalachian we strive to rewrite the narrative of our area one story at a time.

During the pandemic we saw just how connected Appalachia can be, and we strive to let everyone see that they might just be a little Appalachian.

Our goal is to create and publish novels, short story collections, photography, comics/graphic novels, and other media. Currently, Quill and Leaf is a small collection of volunteers with many years of experience in writing, editing, cultural anthropology, and physical and digital art styles.

We don't just create because want to, but our souls NEED to. They longvto tell stories and capture the moments that make life worth living, and in Appalachia that can be hard.

We recognize the exploitation of her people and the damage that has been done by "outsiders." These individuals have destroyed the land and made us as a people the butt of many jokes. But we know of other "outsiders." The weirdos and freaks. The immigrants. The people who despite every ounce of generational trauma that has effected them, or the disabilities they were born with, survive in these unprecedented times.

We hope to be a lighthouse in the fog. A canary in a coal mine. The mothman on the silver bridge. Beacons and warnings that we are a strong people and it is our communities that make us stronger.

We hope that Quill and Leaf is successful enough to operate independently and wish to focus more on people over profit this Go Fund Me will help us make our dreams, and the dreams of many young Appalachians, come true.
