The Black Panther Initiative
Donation protected
The Black Panther Initiative - a team of young adults from Ottawa - wants to organize a free screening of Black Panther for kids of The Boys And Girls Club! The free screening will be held at a local movie theatre, and would cost approximately 7,000$ to organize:
- Securing venue (~2,000$)
- Admission (~2,200$ for 200 kids and 20 team leaders)
- Food for kids and their team leaders (~1,400$)
- Transportation (~300$ to ~600$ per bus, price depends on amount of kids invited to the event)
Fadhili Samba, the main organiser of the BPI, will be responsible of handling all transactions. The first withdrawal will take place when the fundraiser reaches 2,000$ and will go towards securing the venue. Every following withdrawal will take place once the prices are confirmed for the admission, food and transportation and only when the requested ammount can be payed in full.
We are aiming to have a minimum of 200 kids at the screening. All remaining or additional funds will allow us to either bring in more kids, purchase toys for them to take home, or will be donated in full to the Boys And Girls Club of Ottawa.
Black Panther is quickly becoming the biggest superhero movie to be released in theatres. It broke presale ticket records in the span of 24h, and communities across the United States and Canada are organizing special screenings of the film for underprivileged children.
The movement is now making its way to Canada’s capital - help us spread the Black Panther joy by donating to this event, or sharing this fundraiser with the #BPIOttawa hashtag and check out #BlackPantherChallenge to see how other communities are working to create special screenings for deserving children.
(For organizations looking to sponsor the event, individuals looking to get involved, or superheroes looking to help their fans, please reach out to us by emailing Fadhili Samba at [email redacted])
