Firefighter loses home to fire.
Donation protected
On November 4, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire. What they did not know, is that the house belonged to one of their own. FF Torres was on duty when he heard the call go out. He knew the call was on his street but never imagined it would be his house. As first responders, we are trained to handle any type of call we receive. You never expect to get a call that your house is on fire. His family made it out safe but unfortunately their dog did not survive. The house suffered severe fire and smoke damage and there is a long road ahead.
We are raising money to help with some of the more urgent needs as the Torres family tries to start working through the process of recovery. Any help is truly appreciated in making all of this less burdensome. Thank you for your support.
