THE NEED:
Training for Pastors in Kenya
The Solution:
Phase 1: Classes - for $40 you can send a pastor to the initial training class for a week of study.
Phase 2: Resources - for approximately $100 dollars you can supply a pastor with an inexpensive tablet that will help him in his work.
Phase 3: The Citadel of Hope Prayer Center and Leadership Institute - with the low cost of construction and the land already in place a campus for continued training can be built for $700,000 (this is not just a house but an entire campus).
Please read on for more details.
Rabboni Leadership Institute
According to “Facts & Trends” November 29, 2017 issue , 42 percent of all Protestants live in the continent of Africa and according to research done by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, the number is expected to swell to 53 percent by 2025.
The unfortunate thing is that most of the pastors leading those churches totally lack basic theological training. This has lead to a lot of heresy in the African church.
Bishop Gerishon Njoroge speaks with authority on this as one who lives and has ministered to many churches in the continent.
Wings of Life Gospel Church International proposes to build a Bible Institute to address this need. By supporting the construction of the Rabboni Leadership Institute you will have supported the whole church in Africa.
Let us help to train pastors to preach the gospel plus nothing and nothing but the gospel.
The Segments of our fundraising:
1. Initial Training Session. For $40 you can send a Kenyan pastor to their initial training session. This will cover their travel and lodging. There are 60 pastors in Kenya who require support to attend. We hope to raise $2400 to provide this opportunity to them and the church in Kenya. Dr. Phillip Huggins, the Pastor of The First Baptist Church in Rochester, PA will be the Dean of the school. He will be initiating the first class of over 60 student in June 25 to July 5, 2019.
2. Low cost tablets for the pastors. We are still determining the details but presently the wisest course seems to be to purchase them in Kenya to avoid shipping uncertainties and complications. Wings of Life is affiliated with 90 churches and our goal would be to supply all 90 with tablets that could be used for reviewing commentaries when preparing sermons, listening to lectures, reading to prepare for training sessions, and using for other communication with each other and the Rabboni institute. This would give them an amazing tool. Right now estimates of $100 per tablet would require $9,000 to equip these pastors.
3. Construction of the Rabboni Institute educational facility, "Citadel of Hope Prayer Center and Leadership Institute". This will consist of the following buildings:
Land for the institute has already been set aside so construction is waiting only on the funding. Kenya is blessed with lower cost labor and so the cost for the entire project is estimated at $700,000. The Chapel will be the first building erected and can be started for only $70,000. So phase 1 of the construction segment is $70,000. This will allow the project to move forward.
My appeal:
Bishop Njoroge recently came to the United States to share this opportunity with the brothers and sisters in Christ here. He visited my church and shared the need there. It is my conviction that God provides for what He calls His children to do, and so I wanted to make this opportunity available to His people. Please prayerfully consider what you may be called to do with this opportunity.
