Donation protected
A team of students studying Building Energy Performance at CEPT University in Ahmedabad, India, was selected for the final stage of the Race to Zero competition  organized by the US Department of Energy.  The competition goal is for student teams to design affordable Net Zero Energy homes. The finalist teams travel to Colorado and present their work.

CEPT is the first University in India to reach the final round of Race to Zero Student Design Competition, conducted by U.S Department of Energy. The competition has seen the best universities and colleges across the world participating and thriving towards design excellence. These teams represent the future of high performance green buildings, building science, construction, engineering, and design excellence.

The CEPT team (Team Kill Bill) has designed an urban single family home in Jaipur.  In addition to the competition goals, they also set themselves the challenge of designing a zero water discharge home that improves indoor air quality beyond ambient air in Jaipur to meet WHO standards.

The final presentations are at the end of April and the team has developed details of all building systems, demonstrated performance with simulations, and done cost estimation and financial calculations to demonstrate affordability.

The total cost of the trip for 5 students who have been invited by DOE to represent the team is USD 12,000.  Your support through this campaign will pay for their accommodation and local travel  of USD 4,400.
